Income Tax Due Dates

Due date for prior year’s estimated taxes - Individuals: January 15  Businesses: December 15

100% of your prior year tax liability or at least 90% of your current year tax liability must be paid by this date to avoid potential penalty and interest charges on the underpaid tax amount. FOR INDIVIDUAL TAXPAYERS ONLY, for tax years beginning in 2018, the final date to pay estimated taxes is changed to January 15 (previously the due date was December 15.) This is a mandated change in State Law. PLEASE NOTEThe due dates for business estimated tax payments have not changed.

April 18, 2023: Deadline to file 2022 Wadsworth City income tax returns

State law mandates the filing date of April 15, same as the Federal deadline. Typically this is April 15, but occasionally the IRS approves a different date as the tax filing deadline for annual returns. If the State of Ohio also approves a different due date, municipalities must follow the State due date.

Please note: When you are paying your taxes when e-filing your return, payment can be made only by debit or credit card, or by direct withdrawal from your bank account ("ACH.")  If you elect to pay by debit or credit card, you will incur a 2.75% service charge. This fee is charged to RITA by a third party vendor and is not retained by RITA or the City of Wadsworth. This fee does not apply when paying by ACH. When paying by ACH, you must provide your bank routing and account number.
