Wadsworth Public Library
The signature three-story building, located on the corner of Broad St and Lyman St, creates a welcoming entrance to the business center of Wadsworth. The building façade mimics a series of attached storefronts, further echoing the streetscape of downtown. The Library offers free rentals, free Internet access, public meeting rooms, programming for all ages, special facilities and collections for teens and children, and a drive-up service window and book return.
Wadsworth Park System
Wadsworth offers over 200 acres of beautiful parks, including 14 neighborhood parks and our crown jewel, Memorial Park, a 47.8 acre park featuring Art Wright Stadium and Kaleidoscope Playground, a 14,000 square foot wooden play area. Memorial Park is also home to the Blue Tip Festival, an annual tradition that begins with a parade and draws thousands of visitors.
The City of Wadsworth parks offer pavilion rentals, baseball, basketball, tennis, volleyball, disc golf, walking paths, hiking paths, a fishing pond, and more. Northeast Ohio weather also allows for winter fun. Residents can sled on Friedt Park’s hill, ice skate at Memorial Park’s pond, or enjoy a good snowball fight at any of the parks.
Run, walk, or bike the new Inter Urban Trail, a 10 foot wide multipurpose trail that connects the downtown to many of the Wadsworth parks.
Wadsworth Community Center
The Community Center is a 450,000 square foot complex that is home to Wadsworth High School, the Wadsworth YMCA, WCTV, Summa Health System, the Soprema Senior Center, the Soprema Cafe, and the Grizzly Outdoor Pool.
WCTV is Wadsworth’s municipally-owned television studio that operates local channels 15-18. If you’ve ever wanted to produce your own TV show, WCTV will provide you free equipment rental and training.
The Soprema Senior Center hosts many community events, classes, and activities for senior citizens. The Soprema Café is located inside the Soprema Senior Center and is open to the public Monday-Friday for breakfast and lunch.
The Grizzly Outdoor Pool is an outdoor community pool that is open to the public from Memorial Day to Labor Day. It features a toddler play area, water slide, and diving board.
