Soprema Senior Center
Welcome Back Seniors!
We are thrilled to be re-opening our doors and restarting in-person programming beginning Thursday, July 1! We invite Soprema Senior Center members to register for a special “Welcome Back Orientation” where you will receive a free gift courtesy of the Wadsworth Older Adults Foundation along with a personalized member keytag for our new MySeniorCenter kiosk!
Keeping members and volunteers safe is a top priority as we re-open. Both staff members have been fully vaccinated, and we are encouraging visitors to wear masks if it makes them more comfortable or if they have not been fully vaccinated for the COVID-19 Virus. We have also installed sanitizing stations throughout the Center, as well as touchless soap and paper towel dispensers in the restrooms.
For the time being, we are also putting new protocols in place that require members and guests to:
- Enter the Soprema Senior Center through the main entrance
- RSVP for all programs, table reservations, etc. (no walk-ins please)
- Check in/out at our new “MySeniorCenter” kiosk with their member keycard (or as a visitor)
We'll Continue as a 'Senior Center Without Walls'
While we are excited to have our beloved members back in the building, we will continue operating as a “Senior Center Without Walls” by providing programming that allows Center members to participate in a variety of traditional and contemporary programs and activities using a number of different ways. These include:
- In person
- Virtual (Zoom)
- Remote (phone, off-site, etc.)
Have you heard of the new term “hybrid” yet? While some of our programs will be offered only in person or only on Zoom, we now have new technology that lets seniors choose how they would like participate in certain programs:
- In person at the Center
- On Zoom from anywhere
The exciting thing about a “hybrid program” is that no matter which way you choose to participate, everyone will have fun together! Our Caregiver Support Groups, Senior Book Club and Cooking with Brookdale Camelot programs are just a few of examples of “hybrid” opportunities that will give YOU a choice of how to engage with us.
Summer is here and we are more excited than ever to connect with you. Whether it’s in person, online or by phone, you will experience engaging programs, dedicated staff and helpful volunteers. Welcome back!
