Election & Service
Councilman At Large Tom Stugmyer is involved with many organizations within the City and Medina County. Appointed to fill a Council vacancy in 2016, he has been re-elected for a third term. Currently, Mr. Stugmyer chairs the Economic Development and Planning Committee and serves on the Public Service Committee, as well as the Senior Citizens Commission.
Work & Volunteering
Mr. Stugmyer works with Wadsworth Community Radio as an on air personality, along with producing show and remote broadcasts, on air production and studio engineering. He also freelances as a photographer, videographer, and graphic designer. He completed an appointment as Interim Executive Director for Main Street Wadsworth, and continues to serve that organization as the past President of the Board of Directors. He is a member Wadsworth Area Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Stugmyer received recognition from The Medina County Economic Development Corporation for The 2021 Outstanding Community Advocate Award which is given to a company or individual whose volunteer activities enhance the economic development of the community.
Committees & Organizations
Mr. Stugmyer serves on the Board of Directors for Village of St. Edwards, Wadsworth, and the Wadsworth Salvation Army. He is past President of the Wadsworth Lions Organization. Mr. Stugmyer also serves on the Board of Directors of Higher Orbits, a nonprofit national organization promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math through the use of spaceflight. Mr. Stugmyer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics/Astronomy and Mathematics from The University of Mount Union.
He has been a resident of Wadsworth for 40 years.
