Thomas J. Morris began representing the City of Wadsworth as its Director of Law on January1, 2020. Prior to being the Law Director, he served as the Assistant Law Director under Norman E. Brague beginning in May of 2014. As the Assistant Law Director, Tom prosecuted all of the misdemeanor criminal and traffic cases in the City of Wadsworth and surrounding townships in the Wadsworth Municipal Court.
Mr. Morris is a graduate of Wadsworth High School, The Ohio State University with a B.A. in economics, and the University of Akron School of Law where he received his J.D. with honors. Mr. Morris is a member of the Medina County Bar Association, The Ohio State Bar Association, and a graduate of Leadership Medina County.
While in law school, Mr. Morris clerked for the Honorable James L. Kimbler in both the Wadsworth Municipal Court and the Medina Court of Common Pleas. After graduating law school, Mr. Morris practiced law privately for 18 years as a partner in the firm of Palecek McIlvaine Hoffman and Morse Co., LPA where he practiced criminal law, civil litigation, and general practice.
